Caledonian College of Engineering (CCE), one of the reputed Institutions in Oman, is undergoing expansion with the opening of an additional campus at Airport Heights. 1. Academic Positions:

Appointments will be made at the appropriate level depending on qualifications and experience. For Lecturers position, the candidates must have attained a minimum of a Masters degree in the relevant specialisation and have a minimum of five years of teaching experience at higher education level, and the candidates applying for Senior Lecturers position must have a PhD in the relevant area and a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience. Additional industrial experience will be an advantage. Appointees will be required to lecture and carry out all academic activities in the department including teaching, supervision of degree and/or masters projects, academic guidance, examining and development of learning support materials.
2. Heads of Engineering Departments (Electronics, Mechanical, Civil) - REF Number: CCE 06032013
College is seeking application for the position of Head of Department for various engineering departments of the college. These are senior appointments demanding candidates of high quality and experience. The appointees will be responsible for providing leadership in strategic planning and the direction of the department, aligning of department goals and KPIs with the College goals and achieving these within the time frames. They will be also responsible for budget projection, managing staff and establishing a professional and positive staff climate. They will also contribute to staff appraisal, professional development and ensuring quality of all department operations. The appointees will also contribute to the delivery and development of teaching, together with the research and professional activities of the department. They will be also responsible for enhancing the learning experience of students, and to this effect, identify and promote appropriate learning and teaching methodologies.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Engineering specialized in areas related to Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering. The right candidates must have a proven record of teaching at tertiary level and research, as well as experience of line management, effective administrative and organisational skills, and a proven ability to give proactive leadership as head of department within the specified field of higher education.
Candidates should have knowledge of current trends in human resource development, programme design and development, department organisation and operation, and an interest in issues and activities at college level. Knowledge and experience of team management, motivation, academic and financial management within higher education is desirable.
3. Lecturers in School of Foundation Studies (REF NUMBER: CCE 07032013)
Applications are invited for teaching posts across the School of Foundation Studies. Teachers of English, Maths, Science, IT Skills and Soft Skills, with a minimum of a Bachelor degree in the relevant field, are invited to apply for Assistant Lecturer posts; training is available for new graduates. Full Lecturer posts are open to Omani candidates and native English speakers with a Masters degree and a minimum of three years of teaching experience. All candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English and be embracing of new technology for learning and teaching.
Candidates must indicate clearly the post for which they wish to be considered by quoting the reference number. Candidates are advised to give clear statements and evidence of their specialisation, especially in teaching, research and consultancy or other scholarly activity.
Terms and Conditions: Successful candidates are normally offered two year renewable contracts. Salaries are commensurate with the post and experience.
