Academic Affiliation Agreement with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) - UK

Caledonian College of Engineering is affiliated to Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland UK GCU has a tradition of quality education, research, constancy and training that dates back to 1875. At present there are over 1,200 highly qualified and experienced teaching staff within 23 teaching departments, committed to helping students in their studies and careers.
Fine residential accommodation is available for students progressing to study at GCU. The university has an extensive and experienced Student Services Department that provides students with support in all non-academic areas. There are extensive sports facilities and a lively Students Association.GCU has grown to become a major provider of professional and vocational higher education in UK, with over 14,000 students. VIT University comprises of six schools offering 16 undergraduate programmes and 29 postgraduate programmes, with research programmes leading to M Phil and PhD Degrees. Additionally, VIT University has been accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), United Kingdom and the Energy Institute, United Kingdom and all VIT University programmes are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (All India Council of Technical Education). It is the first University in India to undergo the coveted ABET accreditation process for two of its programmes. VIT University has been identified as a Centre of Excellence in the areas of automotive electronics, disaster mitigation and management, renewable energy projects, rapid prototyping and manufacturing facilities and the Centre of Bio Separation Technology. VIT University has MoUs with various international institutions, providing basis for student and faculty exchange and joint research facilities. Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NITD)

The National Institute of Technology, Durgapur was established in 1960 as one of eight colleges aimed to function as a pace setter for engineering education in India and to foster national integration. It is a fully-funded premier Technological Institution of the Government of India and is administered by an autonomous Board of Governors. The Institute is a University which awards BTech, MCA., MSc, MBA, MTech and PhD degrees to students after their successful completion of the specified courses. The Institute imparts education in the disciplines of Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Materials Science and Management Studies. Academic partnership with NITD includes areas of cooperation in research and development, faculty exchange and professional and staff development programmes etc.
International Research Centre for Renewable Energy (IFEED)-Germany

The International Research Centre for Renewable Energy (IFEED), based in Germany, was founded in 1999 and promotes the use of renewable energy such as solar, wind, biomass. It also deals with the configuration and the implementation of new technologies in this field. With the main functions of IFEED being research, application as well as consulting and education, IFEED participates in many research studies including renewable energy resources, demand study of electricity and water and electricity networking. The initial focus of cooperation between IFEED and the College will be in research and development, with the faculty and students from the Sultanate of Oman having the opportunity to work together with different national and international bodies. CCE envisages vast benefits from the areas of cooperation with IFEED, with a major emphasis on promoting the development of regional research capacity. In addition, this cooperation will facilitate and coordinate joint activities in research studies, elaborating technologies, utilising and introducing technology and exchange of researchers. Further focus is given to cooperation and exchange of expertise in design development, delivery of educational and short courses and training programmes to meet the needs of human resource development in the Sultanate of Oman and the region.
The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE)-Sultanate of Oman

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) was established by a Royal Decree in 1993 and is now managed by Mr Hilal Al Ahasani, CEO and a Board of Directors chaired by HE Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, Oman’s Minister of Commerce and Industry. Since 1993, PEIE has been responsible for developing and managing prime industrial land in eight locations in Rusayl, Raysut, Sohar, Nizwa, Buraimi, Sur, Al Mazunah Free zone and Knowledge Oasis Muscat. The College has a Memorandum of Understanding with PEIE which was established to facilitate technology incubation. The agreement covers areas such as partner incubation, which facilitates product design and development, primarily in engineering and technological areas. It also encompasses corporate training, consultancy services and short courses along with seminars, workshops and conferences.
In partnership with Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique, Laboratoire de Biotechnologie de l’Environnement (INRA-LBE), France
The National Institute of Agronomic Research in France (INRA) and Caledonian College of Engineering in Oman (CCE) has signed an agreement for cooperation between the two institutions on the 4th June at CCE in Muscat.
The INRA Laboratory of Environmental Biotechnology (INRA-LBE) in France ranks as the number one agricultural institute in Europe and number two in the world. It carries out mission-oriented research into high-quality and health-giving foods, competitive and sustainable agriculture and a clean environment. The INRA-LBE Laboratory of Environmental Biotechnology, a research lab under INRA, carries out research and development in the biological treatment of liquid effluent and solid residue from domestic, agricultural and agro-industrial waste.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions covers research and development, academic exchange, exchange of research information, publication and training of key staff. The cooperation between CCE and INRA LBE, supported by French Embassy in Oman, can benefit the people of Oman through research and the development of technology”.
Through this collaboration, CCE has taken a leap forward in promoting mission-oriented research in waste treatment and waste management in which it is already engaged through many ongoing research projects. CCE is organizing an international workshop on waste to energy IWWE 2012, on 12-13 March 2012.
ETOPS – FRANCE
ETOPS Aviation Services, an MWC company, and Caledonian College of Engineering (CCE) has entered into co-operation through a formal memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate for the placement, training and internships in the field of Simulator Maintenance and to assess further schemes of cooperation.
This strategic collaboration with ETOPS will enable the College to expand education and training course offering to aviation sector with a specific focus on maintenance.

Cooperation with University Nevada Las Vegas
University of Nevada, Las Vegas, USA and CCE has signed an MoU for cooperation between two institutions.
UNLV is a comprehensive research university of approximately 28,000 students and 2,900 faculty and staff. The university has internationally recognized programs in hotel administration and creative writing; professional degrees in law, architecture, and dental medicine; and leading programs in fine arts, sciences, engineering and education. UNLV is located on a 332-acre main campus and two satellite campuses in dynamic Southern Nevada..

- Information exchange in fields of interest to academic personnel and students of CCE and UNLV and promote co-operation in developing UG and graduate level programs in emerging areas of engineering and technology
