| The
Department of Built and Natural Environment, formerly known
as the Department of Civil Engineering, was among the first
departments to be formed when the Caledonian College of Engineering
was established. Ever since, it has been operating as a significant
faculty of the college, dedicated to producing capable engineers
with skills readily employable in the local market.
Commencing operation with just a handful of students in 1996,
the department has seen substantial growth in terms of programmes
on offer as well as in terms of student population. The department
currently has 216 students registered on its rolls.
Mission of the Department:
“The department shall strive to attain and uphold the
standards set by the university college and in so doing shall
aim to be the premier abode of higher learning, a fountain
of knowledge and a resource base for the industry in Oman
and the region.”
