Department of Electronic & Computer Engineering has been offering short-term courses for its own students, and working professionals from Industries. These courses are designed to suit the corporate requirements and help the participants to acquire continuous professional development. Following courses are proposed to be offered from February 2006.

1. Communication Networks

This course imparts state-of-art and applicable knowledge on Communication Networks and Digital Signal Processing to the engineers and technicians working in telecommunication industries.

2. Transformers and AC Machines

This course is designed to provide state-of-art knowledge and training on Transformers and AC Machines to engineers and technicians working in various electrical power sector industries and ministries in Oman.

3. MATLAB & Simulink for Engineers

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of MATLAB and Simulink for modeling, design, simulation and analysis of systems in a wide range of applications in engineering.

4. Web Enabled Digital Multimedia Application Packages

This course provides skills in designing and developing websites, video capturing & developing, generating 2D animations with sound effects, producing high quality images for applications in Website designing, photography and computer generated grapics.

5. Java Programming

This course is designed to provide programming knowledge in Core Java, Understanding the concepts of Object Oriented Programming. It also provides programming skills in Advanced Java Programming Concepts like Java Database Connectivity, Servlets , Remote Method Invocation & Applets.

6. Visual Basic for Beginners & Advanced

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of Visual Basic for designing and developing the Database Application Packages.
