Caledonian College of Engineering is always interested in
grooming the talent hidden in the Omani youth as well students
from other countries. The department of Mechanical & Industrial
Engineering has excellent, well-qualified faculty and is equipped
with the latest state-of-the-art infrastructure. The classrooms
environment is highly encouraging and equipped with the latest
educational aids, ensuring that the students gain sufficient
knowledge in their streams of specialization. The Department
is one of the largest in the college, in terms of faculty
as well as student strength.
Admission Procedure:
A Unified Admission Centre is established as per Royal Decree
No.104/2005, to receive applications for joining the higher
education institutions in the Sultanate. The centre will be
operational from April 1, 2006. The unified admission centre
will receive applications from students electronically. Students
would be provided with a manual with information about the
electronic system adopted by the Unified Admission centre.
The names of students admitted will be published on the Unified
Admission center’s website and in newspapers. They will
also be informed through SMS or e-mails.

Exemptions:
Exemptions are awarded to students with prior work experience
or to the students who have completed some of the modules,
which need to be completed by a student for the award of engineering
degree, elsewhere in the world. APEL (Acquired Prior Experiential
Learning) is being considered for mature students who have
qualified themselves for exemptions by putting up substantial
experience in industries related to their program of study.
Normally, these exemptions are decided on person-to-person
basis and hence it is always advisable to contact the admission
tutors before registering themselves for various modules in
the proposed program.
