Caledonian College of Engineering is committed to ensure that all its operations and services are of high quality and standard. The main aim of the quality management system is to integrate the quality management with the planning process of college operation. To achieve this purpose college has set up the Quality office as an independent department in May 2004 under the leadership of Deputy Dean and Registrar who is the Quality coordinator. It comprises of a Manager, Assistant Manager and a Quality Assistant. The prime responsibility of the Quality Office is to advise the Executives, Academic Council and other committees as appropriate, on the development, implementation, operation and monitoring of the college's procedures and policies regarding the quality assurance matters arising in the day-to-day operations of the college. In particular, the Quality office is responsible for the co-ordination, of a number of activities designed to ensure and enhance the quality of the College's provisions, with various parties within the college and University, Ministry of Higher Education, Accreditation board and other Professional bodies.

 

Background and History


1996 - GCU QA System adapted to the College
1998 - Several QA systems put in place including committees and Academic council
2002 - College was presented a Ceremonial Mace by GCU
2002 - University College status awarded
2004 May - Quality formally came into existence
2004 Nov - QA Manual and Quality System procedures released
2005 - Internal quality audits started
2006 Oct - Quality Committee fomed.
