| The diverse collections of the
library help to cater to the needs of users. Library collection
consists of core books, advanced level books, technical journals,
Video cassettes and CD-ROMs. The library now focusses on digital
information, and subscribes to online database (Proquest)
and e-journals, which bolsters the library services.
Electronic Library
Presently 36 Pentium IV systems with 17" LCD Flat Monitors
are available with high speed leased line Internet connection
at the library. Students can access the Internet during the
library hours. Members can search their required information
at the DELNET and PROQUEST. Library
staff will assist you to browse.
Library and Information section in the college Intranet has
plenty of digital information and provides useful links for
engineering and science subjects. Library
catalogue and links to 68 e-journals are available in the
Intranet.
Issue of Books
Students can borrow a maximum of three books at a time for
a period of two weeks.
Level 4 students and Special Part Time students can borrow
a maximum of four books at a time. Books are issued to SPT
students on the basis of their leave schedule.
Renewal Facility
Books can be renewed, if any other member has not reserved
that particular title.
Special part time students can renew their books through telephone.
Students are required to return the library books on or before
the due date mentioned in the book, any delay in returning
the book will be charged at the rate of Fifty baiza per book
per day.
Reservation Facility
Students can reserve the books, which have been issued to
the members. They will be informed after the books have been
returned. Reserved books should be borrowed within three days
of intimation.
Reference Materials
Reference materials can be borrowed on short loan basis (One
day only). Photocopy facility is available.
Websites of the Week
The library has introduced a new service 'websites of the
week' to boost the usage of the internet. Useful and relevant
websites are identified and displayed in the library and also
in the Intranet for the benefit of the students.
Articles request
Necessary arrangements are being made to obtain the required
articles from DELNET, if it is available in DELNET database.
Current Awareness Service (CAS)
CAS has been newly started in the library. Members of staff
has to register (CAS form is available on the Intranet) for
this service. Whenever new books are received in the library
in their area of interest and research fields, they will be
informed. This service will help to keep the users current.
Contact Library
Students can contact the library staff for further assistance
in the library. Library staffs always come forward to help
you in searching the required information and documents in
the library.
