1st Engineering College Accredited by OAAA

Caledonian College of Engineering (CCE) - First Engineering College to be fully accredited by Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA)

OAAA officially announced the outcome of CCE’s Institutional Standards Assessment (ISA) on 5th April 2018.  The OAAA announced that CCE is fully accredited by satisfying all standards, adhering to international standards and practices. This announcement made CCE the 1st Engineering College to receive this remarkable outcome. The announcement was made at the premises of CCE in Al Hail South, by CEO of OAAA, Dr Salim Ridha Ridhawi in presence of Deputy Chair of OAAA Board, Dr Hamed Hashim Al Dhahab, Dr Ahmed Al Kindi, Board member and Deputy CEO Technical Affairs of OAAA, Ms Jenny Walker.

Dr P Mohamed Ali, Chairman Board of Directors of CCE received the official OAAA report. On this occasion Dr Mohamed Ali thanked OAAA officials for their extensive quality enhancement process to ensure the quality of higher education in the country at par with international standards. The Chairman added that “We, at Caledonian are committed to quality education and produce sound engineers to serve not only the local industry but also contribute to the development of the region.  He expressed that this announcement is a reassurance to our stakeholders that CCE graduates are recognized for being educated and trained as per the international standards and are capable of performing efficiently at all given tasks.”  

In this occasion Dr Ahmed Al Bulushi, the Dean of the College, expressed his gratitude to OAAA and the international review panel, who visited the College during 15-18 May 2017, for the opportunity given to Caledonian to demonstrates its academic capabilities and abilities and show the state-of-art resources and systems. Dr Ahmed Al Bulushi added that the Stage 2, Institutional Standard Assessment (ISA) took tremendous investments in terms of time, effort and resources, and expressed his satisfaction for obtaining this deserving outcome.  Indeed, the entire process was an excellent learning experience for the institution and have learned a lot from this exercise.

On this occasion, the Dean stated that “today’s announcement is a proud badge for the CCE community as the result of sincere teamwork and has given the desired outcome.” He congratulated all staff, students, employers of CCE graduates and the entire industry for this achievement. This outcome is a reassurance and proof that CCE’s 22 years of professional experience, international collaborations and relation with the industries are based on quality standards and practices, its students and graduates are powerful human resources for the country and the region. On this occasion the Dean thanked the College staff, Chairman, Board of Directors and Board of Trustees for their trust and continues support to Caledonian College of Engineering.
