TEAM KHANJAR has successfully participated in Shell Eco-marathon in India.

Supported by National University of Science and Technology (NUST) , Sponsored by Al SIRAJ, UES (platinum sponsors) and CNC (golden sponsor) the TEAM KHANJAR has successfully participated in Shell Eco-marathon held at the Madras Motor Racing Track in Chennai from December 6 – 9, 2018.

TEAM KHANJAR, a team consisting of 10 students of MIE & ECE Department from diversified disciplines under the supervisors of Dr.Amuthakkannan and Ms. Asma Al Kharusi from Mechanical and Industrial Department has successfully participated in Shell Eco-marathon in India.

The team has joined to achieve a common goal: building an eco-friendly fuel-efficient vehicle to conserve the environment and minimize the effects of pollution due to vehicle residues.

This goal corresponds to the threats currently facing our environment. With the help and support of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Team KHANJAR is already on the track to achieve optimum vehicle design.

TEAM KHANJAR has worked as the first time in such project and competition. They have worked hard to pass all test but we could not be able to pass all of them due to change on the driver and some of the technical issue. The outer design of the car was highly attractive and many people were giving a positive feedback about the technical aspect of the design and the good finishing of the outer painting which was supported by the sponsors Al-SIRAJ, UES and CNC companies. TEAM KHANJAR makes a great mark for the event between the participated teams and gets good media recovery to represent the university and Oman. TEAM KHANJAR has exchanged the Omani culture by distributing Omani Halwah to the participants, shell committee and visitors, so they make a good impact on the event. The vision on the team become more clearly through this experience and it should use in participation on Shell Eco-marathon Asia: March 8-11 in Singapore, SG. Now the team is preparing for the upcoming event.
